Italian speckled, tweedy jacquard 'twill' knit - denim/cherry 1.25 yds

From Italian designer deadstock, this is a smart and stylish yarn-dyed jacquard knit, a little lighter in weight and drape than a doubleknit and not as heavy or firm as ponte. The speckled, tweedy design is knitted in a dark denim blue, cherry red and white (PANTONE 19-3908 is close, 19-1763, etc.). It has a diagonal striping in the knit, which creates the illusion of a twill though it is constructed with a knit stitch. The back side is a mélange of the white and red fibers, with the same soft texture as the face, which would make wonderful contrasting pattern pieces and for some styles prevents the need for lining. It has 10% stretch in each direction, and is opaque with body in the drape. It would be perfect for a tunic, cardigan, pullover, light jacket, top, sheath dress, skirt, cigarette pants, etc. So versatile!
