Italian textured wool matelasse' knit - rose 2.5 yd

This is a wonderful textured matelasse' knit just in from Italy, a sweatery coating weight with about 5% "give" in both directions. It has a brushed, cozy feel without being scratchy or wooly, and the puckered surface texture is achieved by pulled horizontal yarn strands which you can see on the reverse. The reverse is not really meant to be seen, but it does have an interesting lacey, brushed look that is very appealing. The yarn-dyed gray and ivory rose design (PANTONE 11-4302, 16-0000) is sophisticated and timeless. It has a 6.5" vertical repeat. The fringed selvages could also be incorporated into your design, and is shown below. It is perfect for a fabulous jacket, coat, etc. Dry clean or treat as you would any fine sweater knit. 2.5 yds.
