Italian ottoman rib 2-ply stretch woven - grasshopper 1.5 yd

What a fascinating and avant garde fabric! From Italy, this ottoman rib-textured woven is medium weight with horizontal ribs on both sides. It has a 2-ply construction and the 20% stretch runs LENGTHWISE. The drape, as it comes off the roll, is very architectural, but if you drape it so that the ribs run lengthwise and the stretch runs widthwise, the drape is much softer and more flowing (as shown in the last two photos). To take advantage of this, just cut your garment laying your pieces across the grain. The coloring is a delightful light grasshopper green (PANTONE 13-0317). Make a super fashion forward over-jacket or topper coat, fitted skirt, tunic, kimono, etc. or use as a contrast fabric to add an interesting texture in a color-blocked garment. Keep the design simple, perhaps combining with a soft knit for sleeves or other details. Dry cleaning recommended. 1.5 yds.
