deadstock 'heartland quilt' all-cotton double gauze

From deadstock of an LA area designer, this fabric has a unique structure that makes it oh-so-wonderful. It is a soft and airy cotton double gauze in a medium-light weight. It's just about opaque with some body in the drape and a dry, cottony hand. The face has a slightly open plain weave, and the reverse is a more gauzy open weave which incorporates a small-scale diamond pattern. These diamonds come through in a subtle way on the face which gives it a quilted look. The two layers cannot be separated. The "heartland quilt" design is both modern and nostalgic at the same time. It has a 5.75" vertical repeat and features a grid of symbols printed in a soft black on a natural base. It is perfect for a casual shirt, top, tunic, blouse, beach cover-up, kids and baby clothing, etc. Hand or machine wash cold, gentle, hang or lay flat to dry (please test first), or dry clean.
