French fancy textured novelty woven - matte black/lurex

From designer deadstock and made in France, this gorgeous fancy weave is rich with texture and has a contrast of lustrous and matte fibers. The alluring woven-in design (5.75" repeat) includes a wonderful medley of smooth threads that catch the light along with twisty bouclé style yarn in varying thicknesses. The occasional open weave makes this fabric semi-opaque in some areas and semi-sheer in others (photographed on a nude background). The color is classic black, and it is stable in both directions with a plain sheer weave backing woven from clear lurex and fine black yarn. It is malleable with body in the drape and is a lighter suiting weight. A stunning fabric that would make a very special coat or jacket, skirt, shawl, sheath dress, structured gown, etc. Some styles will need lining. Dry cleaning recommended.
