NY designer pleated stretch black/white gingham woven

This fabulous and unique fabric is a black and white, yarn-dyed, mini gingham check stretch cotton blend woven with a twist! It has a pattern of informal vertical pleats/tucks that "interrupt" the regular checkered pattern in a wonderfully effective way, adding texture and interest. The combination of the stretch in the fabric and the unfolding of the pleats give it a widthwise stretch of about 30%, with great recovery. It is lightweight with a cottony drape, and would make a wonderful shirt, top, tunic, dress, skirt, etc. Please test first if you wish to hand or machine wash, and hang to dry. The pleats are permanent.
