From a NY designer, this is a wonderful novelty weave black and white sweatery boucle' woven. It is medium weight with a slightly open weave, and has lovely drape and a lot of texture that comes from the mix of yarn thickness and textures. It does appear and drape like a sweater knit, but it is actually a woven with cottony black and white twisty warp fibers and polyester weft fibers. Perfect for layering as a casual cardigan jacket, pullover, tunic, boucle'-like jacket, unstructured suit, etc. Hand wash, lay flat to dry.
