pleated poly georgette stripe - black/snow

This permanently pleated poly georgette striped fabric has horizontally-oriented, uniform 1/2" pleats in black and silvery, snowy white. The fabric has a different look depending on which side you decide to use (see the bottom photo which shows both sides). Only the top photo shows how it comes off the roll, with the horizontal pleats closed where the ruler is, and beginning to open towards the top of the photo. The middle photos are draped on the dress form with the selvages at the top and bottom of the image. Your garment should be cut across the grain, so that the pleats run lengthwise on your garment. It is sheer (when pleats are open) and drapey, and the fabric will expand 300% when it is fully stretched open. Negative ease is your friend when working with this fabric! Perfect for a fun blouse, scarf, top, tunic, shirt, skirt, etc. Some styles may need lining or layering. Dress up or down! Manufacturer recommends hand wash, hang to dry, or dry clean. We will cut the fabric in a relaxed position, so if you order 1 yard, it will stretch out the 3 yards.
