From a NY designer, this is a wonderful Italian yarn-dyed, mostly wool doubleknit with a black and ivory "dashy" design on the face that resembles a basketweave, and a tweedy look on the reverse that can be used as contrast. This wonderful fabric is medium weight and opaque, soft and warm with lovely drape. It has about 20% stretch in the width and 15% in the length. It's perfect for a thicker cardigan, sweater jacket, sweater dress or tunic, knit suiting, etc. Test first if you wish to hand wash, and hang or lay flat to dry, or dry clean.
