Italian 'windowpane' wool/silk/viscose knit - nautical blue

From Italian designer deadstock, this is a gorgeous knit with a blend of fibers, primarily virgin wool and silk. It has substance and is opaque but feels wonderfully weightless. It has a bit of surface texture and some body in the drape. This fabric has a very soft hand on both sides and 30% stretch in the width only. This knitted-in windowpane design (2" pattern repeat) features a subdued nautical blue with slubby highlights and lowlights in charcoal gray, sky blue, etc. The reverse shows a slight bit of the windowpane pattern from the face, but is a pretty, variegated charcoal gray. Perfect for a lightweight cardigan or duster, pullovers, tops, tunics, elevated tees, a knit dress or skirt, comfy and elegant sets, etc.
