From designer deadstock, this is a cleverly engineered doubleweave with a wonderful, puckered texture. A similar impression to shirring, with its raised, crinkly grid and bit of give. This universally flattering fabric would make an excellent cocktail or office dress. The puckered texture shows on the face only, and the reverse features small-scale squares which attach the two layers together, and resemble a classic dobby cloth. This fabric is fully opaque and, while it feels light and airy, the two-ply construction provides substance and body. It has a dry hand and does not require lining. Perfect for a dress or skirt, tunic, airy summer separates, topper coat, summer suiting, etc. Dry clean or test first if you wish to try hand or machine washing, hang to dry. Iron on low face down, being sure to first test.
