Description

This distinctive fabric has a rugged appearance but is truly beautiful quality with an interesting composition of fibers. A modern version of the Russian "crash", which was traditionally a course linen textile prized for its durability and structure. This fabric is more refined, with a textured but appealing hand. Produced in Germany for a European designer with mostly virgin wool and linen, the face has a unique "cracked" character throughout. Interfacing is not necessary as it is already fused to achieve this effect, and lining is recommended. The color is an easily coordinated neutral gray with white crossthreads which emphasize the courser weave. Sew a unique rendition of your favorite spring jacket, vest, or cape. Pair with an insulated lining to sew cold weather coats and jackets.
