D&G vertical stripe wool/lurex dressweight - black/silver

Made in Italy for the iconic brand, this is a festive but sophisticated all-wool woven with a vertical stripe in silver gray and metallic silver lurex on a jet-black base. It is opaque and tightly woven with some fuzziness to the surface texture and a bit of give in both directions. This fabric has a wonderfully soft, dry hand and the weight is incredibly versatile as it could serve as a shirting, a medium dressweight or a light suiting/bottomweight.  versatile medium weight with a very soft, dry hand and no stretch. The yarn-dyed design features an alternating single and double-stripe pattern running vertically with a .5" horizontal repeat. Differing amounts of metallic silver and matte silver yarns are used throughout the design to create a very pretty glistening effect. Sew a very special dress shirt, overshirt, vest, lined or unlined transitional jacket, dress or skirt, trousers, etc. Hand wash and lay flat to dry, or dry clean. Iron on low (please test first!).
