Italian 'atmosphere' brushed wool boucle knit

From Italian designer deadstock, this is an ultra-luxe wool boucle coating with a jacquard knit design. It is wonderfully soft and substantial and features a colorway of subdued earthtones. It is a heavy suiting or medium coating weight, opaque and stable with a bit of give in each direction. Gorgeous quality, and its "atmosphere" (21" pattern repeat) design makes a stunning impression. One side features more boucle curls and a brushed surface while the other is less textured and the yarn-dyed design is more defined. Despite its knit construction, this fabric does not easily fray when cut so it's wonderful to work with. Sew a structured cardigan, lined or unlined jacket or car coat, or choose an insulated lining to make a warm winter coat. Please note the slightly narrow width at 45" and plan accordingly. Dry clean, or if you wish to try hand-washing please test first, and lay flat to dry.
