Italian 'DNA plaid' all-wool doubleface knit coating

From Italian designer deadstock, this is a uniquely beautiful all-wool doubleface knit coating. It has a soft, wooly hand and features black and cloud gray yarns. It is a heavy suiting or medium coating weight. Gorgeous, designer quality and its "DNA plaid" (3.5" pattern repeat) design is so eye-catching. The reverse features a mottling of black and gray. It has about 5% stretch in the width due to its knit construction and it is stable in the length. This fabric is malleable and has some firmness in the drape. The edges don't easily fray when cut so it's wonderful to work with. Sew a cardigan, lined or unlined knit jacket or coat, or choose an insulated lining to make a warm winter coat. Please note the slightly narrow width at 48" and plan accordingly. Dry clean, or if you wish to try hand-washing please test first, and lay flat to dry.
