CA designer wool/cotton clipped weave - pewter 1.125 yds

From designer deadstock, made in Switzerland, this is a wonderful dress weight woven with a clipped jacquard design in nearly equal parts wool and cotton. The pattern forms organic shapes which resemble animal spots or river rocks in near-black, dark gray and silvery gray for an overall impression of pewter (18-4005). The clipped threads are pulled through on the face of this fabric only, so the back side is smooth but shows a muted version of the shape pattern. Between the shapes, the fabric becomes semi-opaque with a more open weave, and the weave within the shapes is nearly opaque. It has some firmness in the drape, and is perfect for a shirt, tunic, dress or skirt, etc. Some styles will need lining or layering. Dry clean or test first if you wish to hand wash, and hang to dry. 1.125 yds.
