French all wool novelty textured motif woven suiting/coating

From French designer deadstock, this amazing upscale beauty is sophisticated and unique. It's an all-wool woven with a lovely, varied pattern (6" repeat) in the weave. The right side features a clipped weave of thicker, twisted yarn motifs layered over a smoother base that has a pleasing swiss dot design, woven in a combination of thick and thin yarns for wonderful dimensional texture. Just gorgeous! The reverse is more smooth and flat, and can be used as contrast or for an unlined garment. The color is black on black, and the variable weave is eye-catching yet subtle. It's a suiting/coating weight with some body in the drape, but is not stiff or crisp. It is completely opaque and a heavier medium weight with no stretch. Make a stunning jacket, coat, winter suit, etc. Dry cleaning recommended.
