You may have seen Kathryn Brenne's article in the current issue of Vogue Patterns Magazine and Sew Today Magazine on sewing with rainwear, using Sandra Betzina's V1564! This Japanese microfiber rainwear is the fabric used, and it is a beautiful quality fabric with lovely drape. The surface texture has a very slightly crinkled look that adds interest and an upscale casual look. Kathryn suggests running it through the dryer with a damp cloth to get any excess wrinkles out before you begin cutting. Smart and stylish, light weight, waterproof, and the color is a fantastic and rich lime tone (PANTONE 15-0343). Make a beautiful raincoat or jacket --- since the fabric is simple you can add lots of detail (pockets, belt, collar, etc), and it's so light that it is great for travel! Follow Kathryn's recommendations for pressing and laundering.
