NY designer novely weave 'sandwich stripe' - black/cream 1.66 yd

From a NY designer, this is a wonderful yarn-dyed novelty weave with stretch in black and cream. It is medium weight but has sheer areas between the black stripes, and it has about 25% stretch in the LENGTH, which means that you can cut your garment across the grain so that the stripes go lengthwise. Or, you can ignore the stretch factor and cut so that the stripes go horizontally. The cream warp fibers in the wider stripe areas form a web that encase the black weft yarns sandwiched inside (see a closeup below). It has a very interesting effect and is a different take on the black and white stripe! Mix your stripe directions for an interesting and eye-catching garment! It's perfect for a tunic, dress, jacket, skirt, etc. Some styles may need lining or layering. It looks the same on both sides.
