From designer deadstock and made in Italy, this is an absolutely outstanding and unique fabric. The content is virgin wool with a touch of elastic, offering give in the width only. A substantial wool etamine with an airy, gauze-like weave and subtly crepey texture. Woven as a single layer, it has more body and coverage than a typical wool gauze, appearing opaque until held to the light. Its dry, softly textured hand and fluid drape give it the character of a much more substantial gauze without the layered construction of double or 4-ply gauze. It's a versatile medium suiting weight offered in a classic black colorway. Sew a matching set à la Eileen Fisher, a timeless skirt or pant suit, dress, jacket or topper, etc. Hand-washing or dry cleaning is recommended. Please test first.
