Italian deadstock 'nautilus' wool boucle knit

From Italian designer deadstock, this is an outstanding knit coating with a mesmerizing jacquard design. It has a soft and fluffy texture and features a moody red and black colorway. It is a heavier suiting or lighter coating weight, opaque and warm. The beautiful yarn-dyed design mimics a nautilus shell with a 24" pattern repeat, making a stunning impression. This fabric is malleable and not at all dense. Design a garment with a voluminous silhouette or something more straight and classic, as the slight firmness in this fabric's drape can lend itself to either style. Despite its knit construction, the edges don't easily fray so it's wonderful to work with. Sew a cozy cardigan, lined or unlined jacket, cocoon coat, or choose an insulated lining to make a warm winter coat. Please note the slightly narrow width at 46" and plan accordingly. Dry clean, or if you wish to try hand-washing please test first, and lay flat to dry.
