'gator skin' leather-look printed ponte doubleknit

This is a beautiful quality ponte doubleknit with a printed "gator skin" motif on the face and a remarkable sueded texture on the reverse. It is supple and substantial, completely opaque and quite stable for a knit. It has body in the drape and just 10% give in the width. The hand is similar to faux leather on the face and a suede on the reverse. It's perfect!  This fabric has a pattern repeat of 10.5", though it mimics the random texture of a real leather. The color story is dark espresso on a nutty brown base. Great for body-hugging or structured garments. Sew a jacket or vest, sheath dress, skirt, cigarette pants or suit! Lining is not necessary, but pair with an insulating lining fabric if you wish to make a winter vest or coat. Dry cleaning recommended, though you could wash at home in cool water (please test first!). Do not iron.
