From designer deadstock and made in Europe, this is a festive pleated dressweight, a light and smooth woven with about 10% stretch in the width. It is opaque and features a fantastic, intermittent stripe which runs widthwise in line with the pleats. The dazzling, metallic "white gold" stripes (6.75" vertical pattern repeat) shine brightly on the jet-black base. While the pleated construction offers some body, this fabric is softer and more drapey than your typical plisse and does not have crisp or firm characteristics.
