From Italy, this is a gorgeous cotton/wool blend stripey knit with a 2-ply novelty stitching. It is thick, soft and opaque, with about 25% widthwise stretch. The yarn-dyed, variegated coloring has a natural stone look mixed with cream (PANTONE 16-0000 for the darker tones). It's a wonderful, cozy and stable sweater knit perfect for any number of more structured cardigans, sweater jackets, hat, mittens, etc. The right side has a textured surface that looks a bit like pleating. A single layer pattern layout is recommended for accuracy. Test first if you wish to hand wash and lay flat to dry, or dry clean.
