French novelty stripe woven - walnut/pewter/black

From French designer deadstock, this gorgeous striped novelty weave suiting is smooth and refined. It has wonderful variation in the style of weave from stripe to stripe, along with a mix of matte and satin finish as well as subtle changes in thickness and texture. The stripe pattern has a 15" repeat and the stripes go across the width of the fabric. Pattern pieces can be laid either with or across the grain, or on the bias to suit your project. The colors include walnut, pewter and jet black (PANTONE 15-0000, 19-0814, etc.). It is has a more crisp, architectural drape and no stretch. It is opaque and it looks the same on both side. A stunning fabric that would make a very special evening topper or jacket, pouffy skirt, shawl, sheath dress, etc. Dry cleaning recommended.
