R0darte corrugated avant garde accordian weave

When I saw this fabric my jaw dropped a little... it is like nothing I've ever seen before! From the designer R0darte, this avant garde fabric resembles a thick, corrugated cardboard in its construction, although it feels cottony soft in texture. It is quite thick with accordion pleating that is held in place by very fine fibers. The main color is a taupey gray, and fine fibers are a silvery blue-gray (PANTONE 16-1407, 12-4302). Its vertical drape is quite firm (as seen when I tried to drape it over the dress form shown below), but if you turn it so that the selvedges are "north and south" (also shown below), it has much more drape with body. If you are a forward-thinking designer with a vision for this type of edgy, fashion-forward and fabulous fabric, you will love this! Create a sculpted and dramatic garment-- a jacket, coat or vest. The texture is so fascinating--I can't stop looking at it! Dry cleaning is probably best.
