J'Envie
This great-looking novelty knit from J'Envie has a textured basketweave design, created by knitting process that creates gathered and textured areas for a dimensional surface. It's overall about the weight of a doubleknit, so it's opaque with body in the drape. One side has a more "gathery, puckery" texture to the lines that make up the basketweave (shown in the closeup) while the other side has a more smooth texture to the lines (drapey photo), but both sides have raised and recessed areas. It has about 10% widthwise and 10% lengthwise stretch, but is quite stable. The color is black. Make any number of body-conscious knit top styles, cardigan, tunic, dress, skirts, etc. Test first if you wish to hand or machine wash in cold water, hang or lay flat to dry.
