From a NY designer, this Italian silk is actually a doublecloth (!), with two layers of very sheer silk sewn together (so they can separate easily for neat hemming) and overprinted with a beautiful ikat rorschach design in tones of pink, apricot, sky, pale sage, dark forest, etc. (PANTONE 18-2436, 16-4530, 12-6204, etc.). It is semi-sheer with a slightly crepey texture and a lovely, soft drape. The print has a 23\" vertical and 16\" horizontal repeat, and about 10% widthwise stretch. Make a blouse, scarf, camisole, etc. and just fold in the layers at the hem, press, hand baste and topstitch for neat and easy edging. (I haven't tried this, but it seems like it should work!)
